It’s simple but not simple.

It’s simple if you are already a musician and want to jump to the film industry. Well Kind off.

  • I think you must listen to great cinema Composer as: John Williams , Ennio Morricone, Han Zimmer , you name them.
  • Watch movies
  • Listen to good music
  • Go to a College (optional) for film scoring courses.
  • You must find filmmakers looking for a composer to made the music to their short film or film.

If your not a musician but want to be a film composer.

  • Well, You must be a musician first.
  • Go to your favorite music instrument classes.
  • or the way yo prefer to learn it.
  • Watch movies
  • listen to classic or  any good music in general that could help.
  • after being a musician you can go to a college program of Film Scoring (optional)
  • You must find filmmakers looking for a composer to made the music to their short film or film.

The point is ; you need to know how to express emotions  , describe the atmosphere and tone of the film , etc , with music.

  • Your going to help the director to communicate a same vision.
  • You must know how all instruments works in case your going to compose something big in scale.
  • If the director don’t like what are you doing , you change it or quit.

I’m not a composer but I have an Idea of what I would like to hear in my films ( short film ,this case) . I know a little bit of music and I love music. But I know there are musician who want to be part of the industry and I know if you search for them you’ll find them.
